PRESIDENT’S CORNER
By Burdette Ahlstrom
I hope our Fly-In breakfast will go as
good as our Fun-Fly. It is great when
everyone works together, that means
everything comes together well. We have 2
new members in the club. Dean Ahlstrom
and Robert Young. Dean is my oldest son.
They are both beginners but I know they will
soon learn to fly. John Chorak was out at the
field on August 3
rd
when Dean and Robert
came out to fly. John helped Dean to get his
airplane all adjusted. Then John took it up
and trimmed it out for him and then he gave
Dean the transmitter to fly. He was doing a
good job until he got too low and I think he
panicked. John couldn’t grab the transmitter
in time because he was so low. It crashed,
but it wasn’t to bad. It is repairable. John
said the next time he will have a buddy cord
to help him. Robert Young has flown before
and he was flying good. He was taking off
and landing. I told Dean not to get
discouraged. That happens even to the
experienced pilots. Dean has flow before but
it has long time ago and it was with me, on
mode 1. This time he is learning the right
way, on mode 2.
