There were 10 members present and 1 guest. Randy Bond made a motion to accept the June, 2008 minutes as presented at the meeting as there was no newsletter in June, seconded by Dale Chiavene. Motion carried. Howard Morstatter gave the treasurer’s report. He reported that we did pretty good on Fun-Fly. Howard said that we now have 31 members as of July 16 th . Motion was made by Dale Chiavene to accept the treasurer’s report as given, seconded by Ray Seng. Motion carried. The next event of the Streator R/C Flyers will be the Fly-In breakfast on Aug. 17 th . The next meeting will be a week earlier than usual, due to the upcoming Fly-In breakfast. Tom Vagasky made a motion to purchase a new flag, seconded by Rey Seng. Motion carried. With no further business to discuss, motion was made by Tom Vagasky to adjourn the meeting. Meeting adjourned. PRESIDENT’S CORNER By Burdette Ahlstrom Once again I would like to thank all the people that have helped at the field during the time I have been out of commission. I think you all have done a great job and I hope that I can help again one of these days. It has been a slow recovery for the last surgery I went through. I’m looking forward to our Fly-In breakfast. I know we will need help that day so if you don’t have anything going on that day please come out and help. There will be plenty to do. We will have an impound area, inspection of aircraft, cooking and serving, 50/50 drawing. So like I say there will be plenty to do. I know that in the past we have always had good help. We will have a setup day on Saturday August 16 th , to set up the gas grills and cut grass and trim weeds. I think the starting time will be 9:00 a.m. before it gets to hot. We will need coolers and ice for the day of the Fly-In breakfast for pop and water for later. We will try to have a club picnic this year. We will discuss more on this at our next meeting. I think we will have to try to find a way to secure our porta potty. Every time the wind blows hard in a storm it tips over and makes a mess. It has tipped over twice this year. All we need is a way to anchor it down. Well I hope to see every one that is able to come at our next meeting. NEXT MEETING The next meeting of the Streator R/C Flyers will be. Wednesday August 12 th at 7:00 p.m. At the Streator field. Weather permitting. Come early and do some flying before the meeting.
