There were 11 members present and 3 guests. Roger Kapraun made a motion to accept April, 2008 minutes as printed in the newsletter, seconded by Rich Carver. Motion carried. Howard Morstatter gave the treasurer’s report. Motion was made by John Chorak to accept the treasurer’s report as given, seconded by Dale Chiavene. Motion carried. The next event of the Streator R/C Flyers will be the Fun-Fly on June 22 nd . Burdette Ahlstrom will be getting the food and soda for the Fun-Fly. Workers will be needed for the transmitter impound area, safety check and cooks and servers. Dale Chiavene will be the announcer. Randy Bond thanked those for all the help installing the new flight stations. Dale Chiavene, Jim Underwood, Dean Ahlstrom, and Robert Young. Apologies to anyone not mentioned who were there. Dale Chiavene made a suggestion to form a work party to fix the garage door and frequency board on Sunday, June 1 st . Motion was made to pick up materials for the frequency board by John Chorak, seconded by Ray Seng. Motion carried. One new member was welcomed, Paul Glover. The locks have been changed on the gate and frequency board. If you need a key and have paid your dues please contact Howard Morstatter or Burdette Ahlstrom. With no further business to discuss, motion was made by Roger Kapraun to adjourn the meeting. Meeting adjourned. PRESIDENT’S CORNER By Burdette Ahlstrom Well it looks like summer has finally arrived . I had 95 deg. On my thermometer today June, 12 th . I just wish the wind would die down a little. I’m hoping for a good day for our Fun-Fly on June, 22 nd . We will have a cleanup up day on Saturday June, 21 st to get the field in shape for Sunday. I sure hope we can have a good turnout for the cleanup. It won’t take long to get everything done if we have enough people to help. Don’t forget we want to have a good and safe show for that day. We will need a lot of help on Sunday to run the Fun-Fly, so try to be there to help. I don’t think I will be much help. I’m still on crutches but I will do what I can. We will need jugs of ice and coolers for pop and water. I’m asking the ladies if they would make some goodies for that day. I know the club would appreciate it very much. Well I hope to see you all at the meeting. NEXT MEETING The next meeting of the Streator R/C Flyers will be. Wednesday June, 18 th at 7:00 p.m. At the Streator field, weather permitting. Come early and bring a plane to fly. .
